Stufful

The Rage Pokémon looks like a stuffed toy with red panda features: a stocky body, round ears and a white tag under its tail. Its soft appearance is deceptive. It hates being touched or hugged, and contact from someone it has not bonded with is enough to trigger a dangerous tantrum. Its arms and legs are strong enough to knock down a tree, even though its defensive movements look adorable from the outside. It also communicates with others of its species through the scent released by the organ located at the back of its body.

Its Normal and Fighting typing reflects that mix of harmless appearance and disproportionate physical response. It is a species from the seventh generation and occupies the first place in its evolutionary line. Upon reaching level 27, it evolves into Bewear, which keeps the same stuffed-toy concept but with much greater strength.

Stufful is not competitive in standard formats. Its place is in Little Cup, where the ability Fluffy and its physical stats allow it to take contact hits and retaliate with Attack. It has 70 HP, 75 Attack, 50 Defense, 45 Special Attack, 50 Special Defense and 50 Speed. The spread is clear: it hits on the physical side, takes physical attacks better, and does not stand out for speed or special bulk.

Fluffy halves the damage from contact moves, but doubles the damage received from Fire-type moves. That second part completely changes some matchups. Its Normal and Fighting typing gives it an immunity to Ghost and lets it hit many opponents with STAB, but leaves it exposed to Fairy, Fighting, Flying and Psychic. Ghost types can also avoid its STAB attacks, so Payback serves as coverage, although its power is modest.

Swords Dance can turn it into a physical threat, while Superpower provides a very powerful hit at the cost of lowering Attack and Defense. Ice Punch, Earthquake and Rock Slide broaden its coverage. In Little Cup, it competes with Mienfoo and Timburr, which offer better tools for keeping up the pressure. Fast special attackers, Fire moves and Fairy-type opponents stop it with ease.

Stufful belongs to the Field Egg Group and has a 50% female gender ratio. Its Eggs require 15 cycles to hatch, equivalent to approximately 4080 steps using the usual formula. Its notable Egg Moves include Stomp, Defense Curl, Rollout and Arm Thrust; the latter provides a Fighting-type option through breeding.

Its evolution is exact: it evolves upon reaching level 27. It does not depend on friendship, the time of day or an item. Its catch rate is 140, an intermediate figure that makes it possible to find and catch it without making the encounter trivial, although it does not require preparing for the encounter as a species with a low catch rate would.

Fluffy and Klutz are its regular abilities, while Cute Charm is its Hidden Ability. For breeding, it is worth remembering that Klutz prevents the use of held items during battle, so the choice of ability affects its later use much more than obtaining the Egg.
